Recap: Jefferson Grizzlies vs. Capuchino Mustangs
The Jefferson Grizzlies lost against the Capuchino Mustangs back in November of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Jefferson fell 47-39 to Capuchino. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jefferson in their matchups with Capuchino: they've now lost five in a row.
Jefferson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerzey Gallegos, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gallegos hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Grace Wang, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Jefferson has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Capuchino, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will face off against Terra Nova at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Capuchino, they will head out on the road to face off against El Camino at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
