Soccer Recap: Cedartown's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Cedartown proved they can win big last Friday (they won by five) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cartersville Hurricanes, sneaking past 4-3. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those seven games. As for Cartersville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedartown will venture away from home to square off against Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cartersville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Ringgold at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ringgold will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cartersville surely won't give up without a fight.
