Baseball Recap: Springfield Has No Trouble Against Napoleon

Springfield's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Napoleon Wildcats with a sharp 9-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-11 back in April.

Jaxon Falls made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Springfield is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-17 otherwise. Falls was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Kash Thomley was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Blake Young, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Napoleon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-20.

As of now, neither Springfield nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
