Softball Recap: Ashland-Greenwood Comes Up Short

Ashland-Greenwood was the 10-0 winner over Cozad when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluejays fell just short of the Haymakers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Ellie Milburn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Jaycee Downing also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ashland-Greenwood has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Cozad, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Ashland-Greenwood will venture away from home to square off against Arlington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cozad, they will host McCook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
