Softball Recap: Carl Albert Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Carl Albert had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Midwest City Bombers as they made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering the Titans have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kynlee Sutton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on AJ Bennett, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Journi LaValley, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Carl Albert's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Midwest City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carl Albert will challenge Blanchard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Midwest City, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Guthrie at 5:00 p.m.
