Tekamah-Herman took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They slipped by the Ponca Indians 22-21. The score was all tied up 8-8 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Tekamah-Herman can attribute much of their success to Roger Wright, who picked up 115 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Despite the defeat, Ponca saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caden Cleveland rushed for 129 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tekamah-Herman will host West Point-Beemer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ponca, they will be playing at home against Bergan Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
