Preview: Foothill Mustangs vs. Johnson Warriors
Foothill has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Johnson Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
While Foothill couldn't quite beat Valley on Monday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 32-point loss they were dealt on Friday. Foothill fell just short of Valley by a score of 37-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Foothill has suffered since December 12, 2023.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Paris Arnold, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Maryssa Arnold, who scored eight points.
Johnson suffered their biggest defeat since November 18, 2023 on Monday. They were the victim of a rough 50-25 defeat at the hands of Cordova. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Johnson has suffered against Cordova since January 9, 2019.
Foothill has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Everything came up roses for Foothill against Johnson in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 64-14 victory. With Foothill ahead 32-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
