Baseball Recap: Heritage Preparatory Comes Up Short

Heritage Preparatory might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Flint River Academy who claimed the real prize. The Rams took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ryder Pitt was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Pitt wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Garner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Heritage Preparatory's loss dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Flint River Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Heritage Preparatory does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flint River Academy, they will square off against Rock Springs Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
