Recap: Center Cougars vs. Foothill Mustangs
The Center Cougars entered their tilt with the Foothill Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Center came out on top against Foothill by a score of 41-34 on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Center, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Miessah Sagun, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The game was Sagun's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Laylarae Blake was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
Foothill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joyce Runner, who scored 12 points. The matchup was Runner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeniah Thompson, who scored nine points.
Center's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Foothill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Center will head out on the road to face off against Yuba City at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Yuba City is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Foothill will be home for the holidays to greet Bradshaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bradshaw Christian is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
