League recap: Loper overpowering for Our Lady of Mercy in past week

5A-A league recap: 3/8/13

5A-A's top pitcher this week was Our Lady of Mercy's Austin Loper. Over the past week, he had one win and 14 Ks.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Chargers beat Mary Persons 10-2, Bowdon 6-0 and George Walton Academy 5-4.

The Bobcats' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 14 hits and 12 walks, both of which led the league.

Landmark Christian scored 32 runs this week to lead the league, but Our Lady of Mercy is tops in runs scored this year, with 49.

The Bobcats' Kevin Walker racked up five RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. For the year, he has racked up nine RBIs, good for first in the league.



Loper struck out 12 in Our Lady of Mercy's 10-2 win over Temple on March 1. He gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings of work.
