Basketball Game Preview: Sonoma Valley Dragons vs. Casa Grande Gauchos

The Sonoma Valley Dragons will take on the Casa Grande Gauchos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Sonoma Valley is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Justin-Siena on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sonoma Valley was outmatched by Justin-Siena and fell 54-24. The match marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Casa Grande). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 59-27 win over Napa. The victory was some much needed relief for the Gauchos as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Sonoma Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Casa Grande, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-14.

Sonoma Valley couldn't quite finish off Casa Grande when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 50-48. Can Sonoma Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
