It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wakefield can now relate to. They were dealt a 68-18 loss at the hands of the Linn Bulldogs on Thursday. The Bombers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-12.

When it comes to explaining why Wakefield lost, don't look at Nick Freeman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 137 yards and two scores, and also threw for 15 yards and one touchdown.

Wakefield's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Linn, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
