            Softball Recap: Westview Wolverines vs. Gretna Dragons        
        
		
        
        
            Westview dropped to 20-11 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell  5-2 to the Gretna Dragons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Dragons this season,  with their most recent  loss being a  10-5  defeat  on Thursday.
As for Gretna, they pushed their record up to 27-7 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.8 runs over those games.
For Gretna's part,  Taelyn Rupiper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. Rupiper has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Kenadie Barton was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in September.  Elle Burrell was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs.
As of now, neither Westview nor Gretna have any future games scheduled.
