Softball Recap: Gehlen Catholic Comes Up Short

Gehlen Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-3 to the Akron-Westfield Westerners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Westerners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 back in June.

Gehlen Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Akron-Westfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Gehlen Catholic is taking a road trip to face off against George-Little Rock on Monday. The Jays are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Akron-Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
