Softball Game Preview: Stuart Hornets vs. Porum Panthers

The Stuart Hornets are taking a road trip to square off against the Porum Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stuart's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Porum's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Stuart came up short against Caddo and fell 8-3.

Stuart saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Bear, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Porum). They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Porter on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Stuart's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Porum, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.

Everything went Stuart's way against Porum when the teams last played back in August of 2024, as Stuart made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
