Recap: Animo South Los Angeles Panthers vs. New West Charter Eagles
The Animo South Los Angeles Panthers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 50-17 defeat at the hands of New West Charter. Animo South Los Angeles has struggled against New West Charter recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
New West Charter found their leader in underclassman Brissia Cruz, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cruz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Wolf, who scored 12 points.
Animo South Los Angeles' defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for New West Charter, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Animo South Los Angeles will face off against Math & Science College Preparatory at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Math & Science College Preparatory's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Animo South Los Angeles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for New West Charter, they will head out on the road to square off against Foshay at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Foshay is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
