Football Game Preview: Clio Mustangs vs. Swartz Creek Dragons

The Clio Mustangs will challenge the Swartz Creek Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clio has given up an average of 34.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Clio is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Fenton.

Despite their defeat, Clio saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. D'Marion Erlenbeck, who rushed for 210 yards and two scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 52 yards and one touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Tommy Collins, who gained 124 total yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Swartz Creek also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Flushing by a score of 40-28. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Clio's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Swartz Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Clio against Swartz Creek when the teams last played back in October of 2019, as the team secured a 62-30 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
