Baseball Recap: Stroudsburg Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Stroudsburg walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Nazareth Area Blue Eagles on Monday. Six seems to be a good number for the Mountaineers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Damian Budhai was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Stroudsburg is 4-1 when Budhai allows two or fewer earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Budhai was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Fergusson, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jack Hiscott was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Stroudsburg is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Nazareth Area, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

As of now, neither Stroudsburg nor the Blue Eagles have any future games scheduled.
