Recap: Pleasant Grove Eagles vs. St. Francis Troubadours

Even though the Pleasant Grove Eagles have not done well against the St. Francis Troubadours recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Pleasant Grove snuck past St. Francis with a 63-57 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Pleasant Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Bowman led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds. Leila Williamson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Bria McGahan, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. McGahan has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi London, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Pleasant Grove pushed their record up to 10-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for St. Francis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
