League recap: Blue Earth tops St. James to extend winning streak

Blue Earth extended the longest winning streak in South Central this week by beating St. James, 48-8. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Buccaneers.

Blue Earth led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Saints.

New Ulm's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Mulder threw for nine yards and Isaiah Johnson had nine yards receiving. On the ground Johnson chipped in 62 yards.

New Ulm's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mulder has thrown for 849 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Johnson has 19 catches for 374 yards. Johnson leads the league in rushing with 424 yards.

St. Peter made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,435 from 5,775. The advance stemmed from a 20-6 victory over Waseca last week.
