Soccer Game Preview: Yucaipa vs. Citrus Valley

The Yucaipa Thunderbirds will head out to square off against the Citrus Valley Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Yucaipa is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Cajon on Thursday as Yucaipa made off with a 3-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Isabella Kisselovich and Brooke Smith scored all three of Yucaipa's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Citrus Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They and Redlands East Valley finished up their match with a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Blackhawks happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 21, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Yucaipa and bumps their season record up to 5-7-1. With that draw, Citrus Valley's record moves to 3-10-2.

Yucaipa came out on top in a nail-biter against Citrus Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yucaipa since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
