Basketball Recap: Portage Mustangs vs. Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays
Make it 13 blowout wins for the Portage Mustangs this season. They really took it to Conemaugh Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-22 win on the road. Winning may never get old, but Portage sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Leading Portage to victory were Ashlyn Hudak and Jenna Burkett. Hudak scored 13 points along with three steals, while Burkett scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Cami Burkett was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five assists and three steals.
Portage pushed their record up to 20-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.7 points. As for Conemaugh Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Portage will take on the Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. United will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Conemaugh Valley, they will be playing at home against the Colts at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
