Recap: Rock Academy Warriors vs. Santa Fe Christian Eagles

The Rock Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 65-52 to Santa Fe Christian. Rock Academy has not had much luck with Santa Fe Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Rock Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adeline Hooper, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Rose Riley, who scored 14 points.

Piper Lenihan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Santa Fe Christian, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lenihan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Stanion, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.

Rock Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Santa Fe Christian, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rock Academy will take on Tri-City Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Santa Fe Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Madison at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Tuesday.
