Soccer Game Preview: Pope vs. Lassiter

The Pope Greyhounds will challenge the Lassiter Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pope's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Pope managed to keep up with Sprayberry until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Pope lost 4-0 to Sprayberry.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Lassiter sidestepped Creekview for a 2-1 victory. Given Lassiter's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Creekview are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lassiter's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Pope, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
