Basketball Recap: Brownsville Comes Up Short

Brownsville was the 63-37 winner over Washington when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Brownsville Falcons fell just short of the Washington Prexies by a score of 41-39 on Monday.

Washington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier King out in front who went 6 of 9 on her way to 15 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave King a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Woods, who posted eight points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

Brownsville's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Washington, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10.

The future could be bright for both Brownsville and Washington: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Brownsville will look to extend Uniontown's four-game losing streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Washington will try to hand Charleroi their 13th-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
