The Lathrop Spartans will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Johansen Vikings at 7:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Lathrop's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Vikings have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Lathrop scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-48 victory over Beyer. Given Lathrop's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Patriots are ranked 933rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Marianna Delgado, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Tatiana Lowery was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Johansen was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 49-43 to the Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that Johansen has lost by exactly six points.
Lathrop's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-8. As for Johansen, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
