Basketball Game Preview: East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs vs. Mountain View Academy Mustangs

East Palo Alto Academy hasn't had much luck against Mountain View Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Mountain View Academy Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

East Palo Alto Academy is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 23rd straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 26-18 to Luis Valdez Leadership Academy. One positive for the Bulldogs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View Academy's game on Tuesday was all tied up 12-12 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 24-23 to Mid-Peninsula. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

East Palo Alto Academy will have to contain Leilani Wright as she made an impact in Mountain View Academy's last game. She almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Wright is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Audrey Mackey, who posted 11 points and six steals.

East Palo Alto Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Mountain View Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

East Palo Alto Academy took a serious blow against Mountain View Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-13. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point East Palo Alto Academy was down 33-2.
