Basketball Game Preview: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Montgomery Vikings

The Monterey Trail Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Montgomery Vikings on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Monterey Trail's tournament run continued when they took on Colfax on Monday. Monterey Trail took a 70-55 bruising from Colfax.

Meanwhile, Montgomery suffered their biggest loss since February 7th on Friday. They were dealt a 61-32 defeat at the hands of Marin Catholic. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Montgomery moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Monterey Trail, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Monterey Trail came up short against Montgomery in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 44-35. Can Monterey Trail avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
