Volleyball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Mankato East Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Winhawks of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mankato East, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Winona will head out on the road to square off against Wabasha-Kellogg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Mankato East and Northfield will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
