Ellington posted their closest victory since April 23rd on Friday. They skirted past the Rockville Rams 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 back in April.

Ellington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Weigand, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Ellington is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rockville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Ellington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 victory against Portland on the 15th. Rockville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
