Baseball Recap: Keansburg Comes Up Short

Keansburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Dunellen Destroyers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Shawn Retta made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Keansburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Dunellen, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Keansburg will look to defend their home field on Monday against Timothy Christian at 4:00 p.m. As for Dunellen, they are taking a road trip to face off against Perth Amboy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
