Baseball Recap: Savannah Country Day Comes Up Short

Savannah Country Day fell victim to Effingham County and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Effingham County Rebels. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Hornets were not able to get on the board.

Savannah Country Day saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Kleinpeter, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. James Pannell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Savannah Country Day dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Effingham County, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah Country Day will head out to face off against Jenkins at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Effingham County, they will head out on the road to challenge South Effingham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games South Effingham has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
