Soccer Recap: Monta Vista Comes Up Short

Monta Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Milpitas Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Matadors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in January.

Monta Vista's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Milpitas, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monta Vista will take on MacDonald on Saturday. As for Milpitas, they will square off against Lynbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
