Basketball Recap: Santa Rosa Academy Takes a Loss

Santa Rosa Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Hamilton Bobcats and fell 55-15. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Mariama Jagne was Santa Rosa Academy's leading scorer, having posted four points. Madison Flores held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Leading Hamilton to victory were Azul Cervantez and Shaya Jangula. Cervantez posted 30 points, while Jangula scored 18 points. With that strong performance, Cervantez is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game.

Santa Rosa Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Hamilton, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4.

Santa Rosa Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-5 defeat against Desert Christian Academy on the 10th. As for Hamilton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-40 loss against San Jacinto Leadership Academy on the 15th.
