Baseball Game Preview: Chattahoochee Cougars vs. Tucker Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars challenge the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tucker took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chattahoochee, who comes in off a win.

Chattahoochee will bounce into Friday's match after beating Cambridge, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Chattahoochee walked away with a 6-3 victory over Cambridge on Wednesday.

Chattahoochee got a great performance from Drew O'Neill as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts O'Neill has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Chattahoochee's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nick Spaulding, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, Spaulding posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Alex Zhukov was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Tucker suffered their closest defeat since March 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Midtown by a score of 3-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tucker's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Chattahoochee, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Chattahoochee's way against Tucker in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Chattahoochee made off with an 11-2 win. Will Chattahoochee repeat their success, or does Tucker have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
