Basketball Recap: Capuchino Comes Up Short

Capuchino lost against Terra Nova back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Capuchino Mustangs took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Terra Nova Tigers. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Terra Nova was led to victory by Mariyah Mahasin and Gabby Dyogi. Mahasin posted nine points and seven boards, while Dyogi put up seven points and three steals. Dyogi has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilyanna Carpenter, who had three points and seven rebounds.

Capuchino's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Terra Nova, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capuchino will head out to face off against Woodside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Terra Nova, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Terra Nova Tigers take on the San Mateo Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. San Mateo will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Terra Nova surely won't give up without a fight.
