Preview: Palm Desert Aztecs vs. Redlands Terriers
The Palm Desert Aztecs will be playing at home against the Redlands Terriers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Palm Desert lost to Xavier Prep at home by a decisive 47-28 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Palm Desert in their matchups with Xavier Prep: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Palm Desert saw an underclassman step up: Katelyn Gallagher dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 steals. Gallagher scored a full 42.9% of Palm Desert's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Tethal, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Redlands took a serious blow against Colton on Thursday, falling 43-15.
Palm Desert's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for Redlands, they bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
