Softball Recap: Montrose Comes Up Short

Montrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Halfway Cardinals. If the Blue Jays were looking for revenge after losing 9-5 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Montrose saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsey Carter, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another was Emma Snyder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Montrose's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Halfway, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Montrose will take on Humansville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Halfway has already played their next matchup (against Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
