If Calipatria was riding high fresh off their 33-13 takedown of Holtville last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Calipatria Hornets had to suffer through a 59-31 loss at the hands of the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Palo Verde Valley's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reagan McCarthy, who posted 15 points. The dominant performance gave McCarthy a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jaslene Crow, who put up 11 points.

Calipatria's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Palo Verde Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Calipatria will take on Laguna Beach in a tournament on December 26th. As for Palo Verde Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 30-18 defeat against Helix on the 18th.
