Soccer Game Preview: Mira Monte vs. McFarland

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Mira Monte challenge the McFarland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mira Monte is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Kern Valley with a sharp 6-2 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, McFarland waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Blades. The Cougars wouldn't have won without Samely Ontiveros, who scored the game-winner.

McFarland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Mira Monte, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
