Preview: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Union Mine Diamondbacks
The Liberty Ranch Hawks will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Union Mine Diamondbacks at 7:00 p.m. Liberty Ranch will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak alive.
Liberty Ranch stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to Rosemont for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-43 victory at home. Given Liberty Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Rosemont is ranked 886th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Liberty Ranch found their leader in underclassman Haley Smith, who scored 29 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Kendall Duryee, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Union Mine earned a 43-33 win over Galt on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Union Mine.
Union Mine found their leader in underclassman Baily Reynolds, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Cavallaro, who scored six points.
Liberty Ranch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Union Mine, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Liberty Ranch hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 57.2 points per game. It's a different story for Union Mine, though, as they've been averaging only 47.6 points per game. The only thing between Liberty Ranch and another offensive beatdown is Union Mine. Will they be able to keep them contained?
