Softball Recap: Oak Hill Academy Triumphs

Oak Hill Academy extended their postseason success on Saturday against Kirk Academy. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kirk Academy, sneaking past 4-3. Oak Hill Academy hasn't had any issues with Kirk Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kaelyn Pennington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Molly Aycock, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Mary Crosley Coker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Oak Hill Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Kirk Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Oak Hill Academy will challenge Leake Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Kirk Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
