Basketball Recap: Boca Raton Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Boca Raton challenged Martin County on Tuesday. The Boca Raton Bobcats were beaten by the Martin County Tigers 77-28. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.

Martin County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katelyn Pire, who went 7 for 12from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Those 25 points gave Pire a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Becca Witt, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Boca Raton and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Martin County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Boca Raton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-50 loss against Palm Beach Lakes on the 5th. As for Martin County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-49 defeat against King's Academy on the 5th.
