Baseball Recap: Cascade Triumphs

Cascade won against Newport on Wednesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cougars came out on top against the Cubs by a score of 9-5. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jacob Born was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Cascade's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 8-18 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Carlock, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.

Cascade's record is now 13-18. As for Newport, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

As of now, neither Cascade nor Newport have any future games scheduled.
