Softball Recap: Mercy Comes Up Short

Mercy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-3 to the Lincoln North Star Navigators.

Vanessa Burton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Cloe King was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Mercy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lincoln North Star, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Mercy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Elkhorn at 2:00 p.m. As for Lincoln North Star, they will square off against Lincoln High at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
