Softball Recap: Campbell Comes Up Short

Campbell extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Carrollton Trojans, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered against the Trojans since September 20, 2022.

As for Carrollton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

For Carrollton's part, Maycie Guest tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Guest has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kylei Taylor was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Carly Jane Jordan, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Coincidentally, Campbell and Carrollton will both be playing Hillgrove the next time they take the field. The Spartans will host the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Trojans will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
