Softball Game Preview: Mt. Zion Bulldogs vs. Douglass Astros

The Mt. Zion Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Douglass Astros at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Zion has given up an average of 10.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mt. Zion is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 24 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Douglass on Monday. They lost 17-2 to the Astros.

Saniyah Jones made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

The win (which was Douglass' fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Mt. Zion, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
