Basketball Recap: Berwick Takes a Loss

Berwick played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 46-26 to the Wyoming Valley West Spartans. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Berwick saw an underclassman step up: freshman Abby Calarco posted 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Robbins, who had four points and seven boards.

Berwick's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Wyoming Valley West, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berwick will face off against Pittston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wyoming Valley West, they will square off against Berwick at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
