Recap: Quakertown Christian vs. Coventry Christian
Quakertown Christian took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 41-34 win over Coventry Christian. This was payback for Quakertown Christian, who suffered a 43-8 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the defeat, Coventry Christian saw an underclassman step up: Caitlin Cianci scored 24 points along with four steals and three blocks. Cianci scored a full 70.6% of Coventry Christian's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Anika Wagner was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds.
Quakertown Christian's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Coventry Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quakertown Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Upper Bucks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024. Coventry Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Linville Hill at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Linville Hill is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
