Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Skates Past Buchanan with Ease

St. Mary saw some tournament action on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 75-45 victory over the Buchanan Bears. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Evelini Smith was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Amani Rafiq was another key player, shooting 62% from the field en route to 20 points.

St. Mary's was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

St. Mary's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Buchanan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.

Looking ahead, St. Mary's will host San Ramon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buchanan, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Joaquin Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on December 10.
